If I can only get one item from this collection, it would be the clutch because I am looking for a nice clutch that doesn't look cheap, and this looks quite lovely and unique, with the textured front and the bejeweled center. I like the rich floral scent that dries down into a nice, floral-woodsy scent. The Air of Style Scent Concentrate is encased in a glass compact with the design similar to that of the Sheer Mystery Powder, except that it is glass, not plastic. Personally, I wouldn't get it for the reasons stated above. However, if you are looking for a 187 with a luxurious handle and can afford it, go ahead. However, I do not think I can justify paying $75 for it, knowing that I already have two 187s and have a bajillion other 187 dupes. It is long and looks luxurious, the beautiful head of the 187 sits on a sleek, curvy handle that looks quite ornate but you would be proud to place on your makeup counter. I personally like my MSF Natural to set my makeup or to keep in my purse for quick touch-ups.
Mac lipglass clear dupe mac#
The product itself looks similar my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus. I would have liked for the compact to be made of chrome or glass instead of plastic. You get the compact and a refill for $60, which by the way may be a bit too much for some people, especially if you don't like fingerprints in your packaging.
It looks beautiful especially if you clean it regularly, because fingerprints can look icky with it (just like fingerprints on an iPad that is turned off, yuck). The compact is beautiful as they are in this black glossy compact with a diamond-cut pattern. Also, the amount of product you get is slightly more, so you can probably justify your purchase because you are getting a bit more than the regular products.
Mac lipglass clear dupe upgrade#
I didn't see any upgrade in the quality of the lipglasses so I cannot justify the price increase, except if you are really in it for the packaging. If I were given the chance to choose to buy either the lipglass or the lipstick, I would go for the latter because I feel that the increase in price reflects the better quality of the lipstick as it is creamier and glides amazingly smooth on the lips. Lastly, Gertruyd is a blackened red which is the lipglass partner of Digna. Beatrix is a nude champagne which would go great with Martha lipstick. My favorite is Aleydis, a bright fuchsia that is very festive and I feel would suit a wide range of skintones. Mary is a light gold that is somewhat very ordinary as I've seen MAC churn out a lot of these colors. So I think you are basically paying more solely because of the packaging. In terms of the formulation and pigmentation of the lipglasses, though, I didn't see any improvement. They come in sleek tubes with the same chess pawn top just like the lipsticks. If the Marcel Wanders lipsticks are a bit better than MAC's regular lippies, the lipglasses sadly were no different than the regular lipglasses other than the packaging, at least in my opinion. I have a lot of champagne colors and the color payoff is not as great compared with the other lipsticks from this collection, maybe because it is frost in formula. Martha is my least favorite just because of the color. Same formula as the latter, though - glides like a dream and is very creamy. Gesina is a red cream with slight pink undertones. I was tempted to get this but again, I feel that $22 is too much for a MAC lippie, and I think I have a lot of fuchsia lippies that I hardly ever use. I think this is a universal shade and would go well with all skintones.Ĭatharina is a cream fuchsia that goes on very smooth and buttery. It is a blackened red cream that is perfect for fall or winter. It is encased in the Marcel Wanders glossy black tube with the oddly shaped cap- it reminds me of a chess pawn.ĭigna is my grandma's name so I can't forget this lipstick. It does have the slight feel of it being a bit more expensive (which in fact it is), but for the life of me, I still can't shell out $22 for a MAC lipstick. Lipglasses: Mary, Aleydis, Beatrix, GertruydĪll in all, I think the lipsticks are a tad creamier and better than many of the lipsticks from MAC's other regular or limited edition lines. Wanders wanted the packaging to have a sophisticated design and feel, so he concocted an all black ensemble with a lot of intricate curves and lines. This time, MAC collaborates with Marcel Wanders, the renowned Dutch industrial designer known for his take-no-prisoners approach to design. This is a special Luxe Edition that MAC annually churns out around this time of the year, like the Stylistics collection of a few years ago. Here is a somewhat delayed post on the MAC & Marcel Wanders collection.
